The Europe Music Awards held by MTV aired, broadcasting
straight out of Frankfurt , on the 11th of November 2012.
It was a star studded affair which saw the likes of Carly
Rae Jepsen and Rita Ora perform and was full of triumphs and controversial
upsets.
One Direction was named “Best New Act” and was also given
the title of “Biggest Fans”, where they beat out the likes of Justin Bieber and
Lady Gaga – so a fantastic feat for 1D and of course all you super dedicated
Directioners out there!
Unfortunately they couldn’t be physically present at the
awards, like they weren’t there for their “live” performance on the X Factor
over the weekend, but they did prerecord an acceptance speech/message that was
played at the EMAs when they won their awards.
The band are currently in New York City preparing to do some
promo performances on massive breakfast show “Today” on November 13th and 14th.
we read a tweet that fans have already started to camp out
for the performances, with production staff handing out a fruit platter and
basket of bagels – that’s why you guys are the biggest and best fans in the
world, absolute dedication!
Rihanna was nominated for 6 awards but won zero! Taylor
Swift was the big winner of the night taking home 3 awards with the Biebs also
nabbing a trifecta. Nicki Minaj, Psy and Whitney Houston were among the other
recipients.
